MOUNTAIN BIKING
We live in a little mountain village between Oslo and Bergen. The village of Geilo is located 800 meters above the sea level and the best local trails to ride your mountain bike are above 900-1100 meters above the sea level. The trails in the mountain area are quite technical and you need to have some mountain biking background to be able to enjoy these trails. In the village we have man made trails and pump track that are good start for mountain biking for all ages and skill levels. If you want to get the most out of your mountain biking experience in Geilo or in other areas in Hallingdal feel free to book a guided trip on the mountains or introduction course for beginners in easy conditions. We (Antti Ollila and Miia Vatka) are certified mountain bike guides by NMIG (level 2, Norsk MTB instructor and guide certification). Bookings of guiding by e-mail: antti.i.ollila@gmail.com. Lost Fox Guiding do not rent out mountain bikes. In Geilo and nearby it is possible to rent out a mountain bikes of Geilo Bike Park (opens 29.6., www.skigeilo.no) or Rallarvegen Bike Rental in Haugastol (www.haugastol.no).
If you are planing to bike here whit out a guide please take in consideration that cycling in the trails of the Hardangervidda and Hallingskarvet national park is forbidden. When you are cycling on the trail remember to respect the nature and other trail users.
